PNC is looking to build and enhance its Big Data Platform to support data products and address complex business needs within the financial services domain.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java with strong experience in Spring Boot for building APIs and Kafka pipelines / microservices.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration with enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, schema registry, topic partitioning, lag monitoring).
- Strong background in Apache Spark (batch and streaming) for ETL and analytics.
- Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, YARN, MapReduce) for large-scale data processing.
- Strong SQL skills: writing complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Teradata, or Redshift for analytical workloads.
Responsibilities
- Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
- Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Writes code, tests and deploys software.
- Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
- Maintains and debugs software.
- Experience tuning performance of distributed jobs in a financial data environment.
- Experience building data models that support data products use cases.
Other
- Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.
