DaySmart Software is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain their core platform and key features, primarily utilizing Ruby on Rails, to solve complex technical challenges, enhance system scalability, and ensure platform reliability.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and its ecosystem
- Extensive experience in building and maintaining scalable backend systems and platforms
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software architecture
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and NoSQL databases like Redis and MongoDB
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and security best practices
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems using Ruby on Rails
- Contribute to the architecture and ongoing evolution of the core platform
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code adhering to best practices
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define and deliver new features
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and facilitate knowledge sharing
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform promptly
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support
