HX5 is seeking a qualified Software Engineer, Senior to support the Munitions Sustainment Division at Hill Air Force Base.
Requirements
- Experienced with Information Technology (IT) systems, as well as the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software, including familiarity with software Verification and Validation processes
- Experience working on all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using scripting languages such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell
- Implementing and integrating DevSecOps tool chains for AWS cloud
- Understand, evaluate, and suggest opportunities for modernization of enterprise platform services for Cloud One platform (Jenkins, Artifactory, Trend Micro, etc.)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M; Security+ preferred certification
- Experience with munitions supply systems and munitions processes
Responsibilities
- Produce architectures which assess users’ needs, document planned and existing systems intended to meet the needs, determine deficiencies, develop alternative solutions, recommend solutions to meet the deficiencies, and support development of a plan to implement the chosen solution
- Detail operational requirements and functional interactions within the system and with other systems, considering life cycle costs, logistics supportability, human factors, et al, to determine if the basic building blocks of the system are defined in sufficient detail to support a development program effort
- Develops, codes, tests, and debugs software and applications using Java
- Designs features and makes improvements based on user experience data
- Completes unit testing to identify and fix programming errors
- Uses common testing and software documentation tools
- Writes software documentation guides

- Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Business Systems OR a minimum of five (5) years of Munitions IT experience
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be able to travel, including air travel
- Collaborates with other members of the software development team
