The U.S. Intelligence Community requires secure, resilient, and scalable software solutions to support critical intelligence operations, and GDIT is looking for a Software Engineer Sr Advisor to drive the design and development of these solutions.

Requirements

  • Expertise in languages such as Python, Java, C-Sharp, or Go
  • Experience with modern architectures (e.g., microservices, event-driven systems).
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, C2S).
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure coding practices.
  • Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments.
  • Working knowledge of data ingestion, integration, search processing.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, NiFi, or cloud-native services.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Oversee and guide the development of secure, high-performance software systems across the entire SDLC—from architecture and implementation to deployment and sustainment.
  • System Architecture: Design modular, scalable, and mission-resilient systems using modern frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and secure development practices.
  • Secure Development: Ensure systems are compliant with IC standards for cybersecurity, including RMF, ICD 503, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with analysts, mission users, data scientists, and systems engineers to translate intelligence requirements into operational capabilities.
  • Classified Environments: Develop and support applications within classified environments, working with containerization, virtualization, or air-gapped networks as needed.
  • Code Quality & DevSecOps: Promote software quality through peer reviews, CI/CD automation, test coverage, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and direction to junior engineers, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and mission alignment.

Other

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active TS with eligibility for SCI required
