ServiceNow is looking to enhance its Stream Connect for Apache Kafka offering, which links customer Kafka environments to ServiceNow instances for high-volume, low-latency data streaming. The goal is to develop robust and scalable solutions to support this real-time data flow, empowering key ServiceNow applications.
Requirements
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Experience with multiple technology stacks: Cloud Dev, Platforms, Web Dev, Frameworks or service–oriented architecture
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
- Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue
- Analytical and design skills
- Working knowledge and ability to use tools to assist with daily tasks (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, system administration/Unix tools)
- 2+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
Responsibilities
- Help design, develop, and maintain robust solutions to support Stream Processing.
- 30% Front End (JavaScript, React & Angular) and 70% Back End Development (Java)
- Help create guided and intuitive experience to enable low code development
- Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
- Partner with senior to staff level peers and collaborate with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality products to our users.
- Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs.
- Help design and implement new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite

- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- Experience In using AI Productivity tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, etc is a plus or nice to have.
- Experience with event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
- base pay of $123,500 - $191,500
