ASRC Federal is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to support NASA systems at the Armstrong Flight Research Center, specifically to develop and maintain software for gathering and storing flight data.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of C/C++, C-Sharp, Visual Basic, SQL, and Fortran 77/90.
- In-depth knowledge of the Windows XP, Windows 7 Windows Server 2003, and Linux operating systems.
Responsibilities
- Integrate third-party and in-house software to support NASA systems used to gather the information from the telemetry front-end systems, TSPI data, and real-time data to develop setup files for long term flight data storage.
- Software development and troubleshooting.
- Create, enact, and document plans that improve robustness, performance and/ accuracy on software development efforts.
- Follow NASA processes throughout the software development life cycle
- Collaborate with NASA and a multi-functional team.
- Maintain documentation on all projects and systems supported, to include the complete audit trail for every change made to the application or system software and provide to customers upon request.
- Attend and facilitate meetings as required.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field or equivalent, and 2 years of software design and development experience; 5 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 6:30am-4:00pm with occasional overtime (weekdays or weekends) to support mission flight operations.
- At least one day onsite at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA.
