Parsons is seeking a Software Engineer to join their software development team to investigate COTS software protocols and adapt them for mission use within their Federal Solutions team, which supports US government customers in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.
Requirements
- 2 through 6 years of professional experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
- Java experience is accepted for this position, but candidate would have to learn C-Sharp.
- Windows/C-Sharp development exp preferred.
- Must be willing to learn C-Sharp.
- FPGA/Asic knowledge would be helpful, but not required
Responsibilities
- Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
- Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
- Resolves software problem reports.
- Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

- An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
