Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Software Engineer-UML Modeler to provide solutions in data integration and fusion, data analytics, data mining, predictive analytics, data visualization, and decision support tools for the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Missile Defense mission areas.

Requirements

  • Experience in C++ and Java programming
  • Experience with UML and SysML modeling language tools
  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes
  • Experience understanding structure and components of monolithic applications to effectively break them down for containerization
  • Experience analyzing and improving performance of containerized applications

Responsibilities

  • Document and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast paced highly technical environment
  • Stay up-to-date on state-of-the-art programming techniques and software technologies
  • Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skill sets
  • Ability to create software solutions utilizing established industry standards
  • Work with System Engineering Team to schedule, synchronize and execute demonstration capabilities to customers
  • Work with third-party contractors and stakeholders on any potential regression coding due to deployment delays
  • Develop Class and Sequence Diagrams in UML to align with modular design patterns

Other

  • US Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within engineering teams
  • Effective communication skills and experience managing multiple tasks
  • Experience with missile warning and missile defense
  • Understanding of missile warning message types
