Requirements
- Proficiency in programming with Python and C++
- Experience integrating physical hardware, such as cameras or robot arms, into software systems
- Experience building data processing pipelines or dataset management tools
- Experience working in a Linux development environment
- Experience with computer vision frameworks (e.g., OpenCV) or machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the entire image processing workflow, from initial sensor data acquisition (drivers, OS) up to the final application logic and decision-making
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS 2
Responsibilities
- Develop robust utilities and dataset tools to accelerate the iteration loop for vision-guided robotics research
- Identify bottlenecks in engineering and research workflows and implement scalable software solutions to resolve them
- Construct and maintain research prototype workcells by integrating different robot arms and camera hardware
- Design software infrastructure that supports the collection, management, and processing of large-scale robotics data
- Collaborate with researchers to transition experimental workflows into reliable, production-ready engineering systems
- Contribute to the architectural design of codebase, ensuring experimental code can be written quickly while keeping a path to modularity, scalability, and production in mind
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field
- 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on infrastructure or developer tools
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to open source projects and engage with the community
- Ability to work in a research environment or collaborate closely with Research Scientists to productize algorithmic innovations
