Google's Developer AI team is transforming the way software development is carried out at Google by bringing new capabilities based on the latest GenAI research to Googler developers, and leading the tech industry’s evolution of how software is built.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience with Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
- 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with data cleaning, pre-processing, and analysis.
- Familiarity with deploying machine learning models on Alphabet infrastructure (especially TPUs).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DeepMind researchers to train generative models using a unique dataset combining telemetry and logging.
- Partner with Alphabet's internal engineering teams to integrate these models into their workflows, transforming them into a live lab for testing research ideas and rapidly iterating on new approaches.
- Lead the team's efforts in curating and refining SWE pre-training, instruction tuning, and eval datasets, ensuring quality and alignment with project goals.
- Analyze model outputs and user feedback to continuously improve model performance and enable the use of internal SWE data for training Gemini models.
- Actively explore and apply cutting-edge LLM post-training techniques to improve model quality for code generation, code transformation and agentic CL generation and bug-fixing workflows.
Other
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
