Siemens Healthineers is looking to hire a Software Engineering Co-op to assist in the development of embedded systems for molecular imaging cameras, focusing on motion control and detector subsystems. This role aims to build the student's skill set and gain hands-on experience in a healthcare technology environment.

Requirements

  • Agile development processes
  • Hands-on work with electronic circuitry, cabling, etc.

Responsibilities

  • May be involved in all aspects of embedded systems development, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing and documentation of the motion control and detector subsystems for molecular imaging cameras.
  • Includes safety critical motions, and mitigations to prevent accidents across multiple axes of motion
  • Will be expected to write and test embedded software, execute written test procedures, document results, and to recognize/isolate system anomalies.
  • Tasks include writing code (C/C++) for embedded systems, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of results.
  • Coop will work with firmware and electrical engineers for the motion control and detector subsystems, and assist with development and test.
  • Provide support for system host emulator, as well as assist in the loading of software in the lab.
  • Coop will also help address issues arising from the Defect Handling Board, and may be asked to help out with certain administrative tasks.

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, majoring in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred)
  • Registered and eligible to participate in a co-op through your university
  • This position is open to candidates who are permanently authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to support visa sponsorship for this role now or in the future, including for those currently utilizing F-1/OPT, H-1B, or other employment-based work visas.
  • A successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
