Abbott is seeking a technical leader for their Embedded Software Engineering group to guide the design and development of software for IoT devices, ensuring compatibility with all systems and meeting regulatory and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience leading/managing a software engineering or engineering function working on embedded IoT designs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall technical leadership to a large Embedded Software Engineering group focusing on IoT device designs.
- Provides guidance for the design and development software to support engineering processes.
- Works closely with team to establish software development goals while ensuring compatibility with all systems involved.
- Provides technical assistance for diagnosing software problems.
- Guides development and documentation of test plan protocols, standard operating procedures, specifications and test procedures.
- Reviews and provides functional approval for project and quality system documentation.
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Other
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar plus 10+ years of experience
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

- Ability to travel approximately 30%, including internationally.
