KPMG is seeking an Engineering Director to join their Tax Ignition Team to define roadmaps and technical strategies for large-scale programs involving cloud services, microservices, front-end frameworks, and AI/ML integrations, while ensuring end-to-end program delivery and fostering a high-performing engineering team.
Requirements
- proven track record running large, complex enterprise programs on Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, SQL Database)
- Deep practical experience and background in Python, .NET Framework/Core, C-Sharp, PowerShell, Angular, TypeScript, LLM fine‑tuning (Azure OpenAI or open‑source), data pipelines, model deployment, DevOps/CI‑CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), infrastructure as code (ARM, Bicep)
- Solid understanding of software engineering such as microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization; Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C-Sharp, Angular, SQL and Azure is preferred
- Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn) is preferred with excellent analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Define roadmaps and technical strategies for multi‑year, large‑scale programs that span cloud services, microservices, front‑end frameworks and Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) integrations
- Own end‑to‑end program delivery; guide design reviews, enforce best practices (infrastructure as code, containerization, API standards), and validate POCs for new technologies (LLM fine‑tuning, prompt‑based workflows, and more)
- Work in a highly regulated environment with security testing and risk teams to bake in security‑by‑design threat modeling, automated security scans, pen‑testing cycles and regulatory compliance

- Minimum ten years of recent experience in software engineering; minimum five years of recent experience in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering or related field is preferred; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is desired
- Exceptional communicating skills, demonstrated ability and comfort in presenting to C‑suite and translating business needs into technical solutions; possess a entrepreneurial mindset such as being proactive, data‑driven, and thrives in ambiguity
