Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to contribute to the development and verification of the latest generation of aerospace software, specifically focusing on flight control embedded software systems.
Requirements
- student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- Displays experience using C and Python
- Learn to use integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems (e.g., Git), and other software development tools
- Gain knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178C for avionics software
- Develop problem-solving skills by troubleshooting and debugging software issues that arise during development and testing
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test safety critical flight control software
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality and reliable software solutions
- Understand the basics of embedded systems and how software interacts with hardware components in aerospace systems
- Gain proficiency in programming languages commonly used in aerospace applications, such as C and Python
- Learn to use integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems (e.g., Git), and other software development tools
- Gain knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178C for avionics software
