SWIB is looking for an intern to help build cloud-native apps, automated workflows, and scalable services that drive efficiency, reduce risk, and unlock insights across SWIB. The goal is to deliver secure, extensible, and maintainable solutions that strengthen and protect SWIB's investment management mandate, by embedding AI responsibly, designing elegant, durable solutions, and fostering a culture of collaboration, shared ownership, and thoughtful experimentation.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Python
- exposure to databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Curiosity about cloud platforms and AI, with a drive to learn hands-on.
- Ability to design solutions that are not just functional, but also scalable, maintain, secure and safe.
Responsibilities
- Prototype and test new approaches to automation, APIs, front-end interfaces, and AI workflows.
- Explore how AI can be embedded responsibly into software systems.
- Build proofs-of-concept in Python that can evolve into production-ready solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates, sharing insights and discoveries.
Other
- Ability to work in Madison, WI for an approximate 10-week period, beginning Summer of 2026.
- Currently pursuring a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
- A track record of building projects that demonstrate creativity and thoughtful engineering.
- Clear communication skills and collaborative mindset.
