Badger Meter is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to assist with software development & implementation, coding, and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software. The intern will write programs according to given specifications using tools like Jira, Git, AWS and languages primarily in Python, with exposure to JavaScript, SQL or other languages. The intern will collaborate across departments to learn and understand problems with software.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable of software development concepts, process, and tools
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, and/or other languages
- Understanding of version control (Git/GitHub)
Responsibilities
- Software development & design, testing, and implementation
- Maintaining and upgrading existing software applications
- Work on assigned tickets and submit pull requests for code review
- Update and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in team standups and technical sessions
Other
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- First preference to CA students
- Sophomore or Junior status (graduating in 2027 or 2028)
- No sponsorship provided (we cannot accept OPT, H1B, etc students at this time)
- Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products
