NextEra Analytics is seeking to solve some of the hardest problems facing the energy industry by applying expertise in advanced mathematics, data and physical sciences, and leveraging massive, diverse sets of utility operating data to drive profitability across their SaaS offerings.
Requirements
- General knowledge of computer science principles, including software design, data structures, and version control.
- Familiarity with hardware design, system integration, or embedded systems is a plus.
- Experience coding in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java, or MATLAB).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, or data-driven optimization.
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Responsibilities
- Support the design, testing, and implementation of software and hardware systems for internal and customer-facing applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to enhance system reliability and data quality.
- Learn and apply cybersecurity best practices to minimize risk in connected systems.
- Participate in system validation, documentation, and integration activities for new hardware and software components.
- Work with vendors and internal partners to troubleshoot issues and identify new technologies that enhance performance and efficiency.
- Support proposals and technical evaluations to help ensure that SaaS solutions meet financial and operational goals.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining clear communication and documentation.

- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Willingness to travel occasionally to field sites for hands-on implementation experience
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
