Collins Aerospace is looking to support the backbone of the connected aviation GLOBALink communication system by developing advanced information management systems, products, and services to enhance every aspect of the end-to-end travel experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the commercial aviation industry.
  • Linux, Network Protocols, High Availability and Security.
  • Disciplined development processes in a team environment.
  • Aerospace knowledge and experience.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills to work across internal and external customers (government and commercial).
  • Experience with ACARS and ATN in which Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Aeronautical Operational Control (AOC) messages.
  • Familiarity with ISO/SEI CMMI compliant process

Responsibilities

  • You will perform full life-cycle software development including designing software solutions; supporting implementation, integration, acceptance testing and deployment.
  • You will contribute to highly technical software engineering teams on challenging software upgrades and features.
  • You will provide analysis for the decomposition of technical system level requirements into sub-system software requirements and design.
  • You will support a large-scale global aviation network infrastructure with heavy design focus in redundancy, high availability, and security.
  • You will develop software for air-ground/ground-ground communication, positional data processing, transport/routing/link layer protocols, and remote deployment capabilities.
  • You will collaborate closely with system engineering/performance, network engineering, system acceptance and field operation teams.
  • You will provide support for product deployment, field monitoring, troubleshooting and operator trainings.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Ability to work onsite in Annapolis, MD facility.
