Requirements
- Experience with modern tech stacks (i.e. React Native, GraphQL, Git, AWS, New Relic/Data Dog)
- Technical aptitude to get up to speed on modern tech stacks
- Familiarity with software engineering principles and practices
- Experience with coding languages and data structures
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
Responsibilities
- Participate in the entire lifecycle of large-scale, user-facing applications, from design and development to testing and deployment
- Collaborate within a cross-functional product team, including engineering, product management, design, and QA members
- Write, test, instrument, and deploy high-quality code with thorough test coverage, using modern frameworks and abstractions
- Develop a deep understanding of the business, industry, codebase, and technical systems
- Contribute to the innovation and continuous improvement of Altruist’s platform
- Learn key engineering architecture principles that support the team’s production features
- Document your experiences and insights throughout the internship
Other
- Must have completed at least 1 previous Software Engineering Internship, preferably in the startup and/or FinTech space
- B.S./B.A. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, graduating in 2027 or 2028
