Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is looking to advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally by designing and building products and platforms that will power their media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come. This includes developing and implementing groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms and solve complex technical problems related to the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content.
Requirements
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to backend development concepts such as REST APIs or microservices.
- Understanding of basic software development principles, including version control, testing, and documentation.
- Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus: Java and Spring Framework
- Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus: Cloud services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, or Lambda)
- Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus: Datastore technologies (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, or SQL)
- Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus: Build and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, GitLab CI/CD)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy application code.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to learn best practices.
- Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and improving the performance of existing systems.
- Help document processes, workflows, and technical designs.
- Contribute to the automation and testing of backend services and APIs.
- Work closely with teammates and stakeholders to understand requirements and propose solutions.
- Learn about system architecture, scalability, and resiliency within Disney’s media supply chain.
