Siemens is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to develop systems and solutions that keep cities growing, businesses flourishing, and people safe, by working on a broad portfolio of grid control and automation, building automation, and energy solutions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Python/C++/C-Sharp/HTML/SCSS/JavaScript/TypeScript or other relevant programming languages.
- Prior experience as a Software Engineering Intern with Siemens Smart Building Products.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Full-Stack Engineer, Back-End Developer, Front-End Developer, Mobile Developer or Project Lead roles.
- Experience with multi-functional teams and collaborative development environments.
- Understanding of industry best-practices and latest technologies.
- Ability to apply technical skills to drive business value and growth.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside senior software leaders and other program participants to deliver business value on tight deadlines.
- Reporting out regularly to senior business leaders on deliverables
- Partnering with mentors in upper management
- Working on a multi-functional team to create innovative solutions to problems cutting across multiple business segments
- Interacting and partnering with other interns and co-ops
- Creating new products and applications using the latest technologies
- Applying industry best-practices to drive the growth of Siemens
Other
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship.
- Located within 50 miles of Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
