Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and operate software systems using advanced security techniques in alignment with the Technical Reference Architecture. This role focuses on strengthening software security, enhancing functionality, and ensuring resilience against vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with Open Source (NoSQL) products such as HBase, Accumulo, BigTable, etc.
  • At least six (6) years of experience within the most recent eight (8) years developing production software in Solaris or Linux environments.
  • Six (6) years of experience developing software in Java, C, or C++.
  • Hands-on experience developing RESTful services.
  • Demonstrated Java development expertise.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Prior experience developing analytics applications.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, test, and operate software solutions with a focus on advanced security practices.
  • Perform ongoing security testing and participate in code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Debug, design, and develop new software, or enhance and modify existing applications.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and design solutions to address security risks and improve system integrity.
  • Contribute across all layers of the software architecture and maintain accurate, up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to exchange knowledge and promote secure coding practices.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Other

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Note: Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
