CAE USA is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and delivering innovative simulation and training systems for defense applications, ensuring mission readiness for the nation's defense forces.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or related field) or equivalent education and work experience
- 8+ years of engineering experience in the defense or aerospace industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects, preferably in simulation, training systems, or defense technology.
- Strong understanding of defense industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Experience with systems engineering, software development, and hardware integration in a defense context.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and/or Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
- Knowledge of CAE’s simulation platforms or similar technologies is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from requirements analysis and design to testing and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with defense industry standards, including ITAR, FAR, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Collaborate with program managers, product owners, and clients to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain CAE’s competitive edge in defense simulation and training.
- Interface with customers, including military and government stakeholders, to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Other
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment.
- Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)
