Apple's Advertising Platforms group needs to design and build best-of-breed systems for dealing with complex and ever-growing platform needs that help deliver highly optimized advertising content to consumers. This manager role will lead a team of experienced engineers specializing in indexing and searching at scale using cloud-based technologies to return results within milliseconds going through terabytes of data.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience building scalable micro services and data driven platforms.
- Expertise in object oriented software development with a deep understanding of scalable indexing solutions systems like Solr, Elastisearch.
- Strong technical leadership skill, proven experience architecting, developing and deploying internet-scale, distributed and critical services.
- Experience building AI/ML Platforms and A/B Testing is helpful.
Responsibilities
- manage, design and develop secure and scalable back-end systems for ad search and retrieval use case.
- work closely with data scientists, leading a team of engineers to design, develop, and implement solutions, including using open source, and building tools, frameworks, and components that will enable us to improve and scale our Ad Delivery platform.

- 5+ years management experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or equivalent is required Master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in advertising industry
- Experience working on complex problems and real-time systems where every millisecond counts.
