Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience building tools that improve development velocity, code quality, or code health.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects.
  • Experience managing or deploying kubernetes.
  • Experience with Bazel, Cloud Build, Gerrit, and Git.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and define the long-term goal for a research and development platform.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions for quantum computing, with a focus on improving development velocity.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Guide the way for exceptional software engineers operating with scale and speed.
  • Manage engineers across multiple teams and locations.
  • Oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

Other

  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers, helping them grow their skills and careers.
  • Collaborate across reporting chains and roles to understand user needs and translate them into a clear technical roadmap.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
