Apple is looking for an engineering leader to define the technical vision, guide architecture and design decisions, and ensure excellence across infrastructure, application development, and quality engineering for a high-performing, low latency enterprise application. The role aims to build and mentor a cross-functional team focused on automation, system reliability, CI/CD efficiency, and delivery quality to support one of the world’s largest and most complex infrastructures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions with a proven track record of building highly reliable and scalable environments.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including networking, compute, storage, IAM, and monitoring services.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automated provisioning and configuration management.
- Proven ability to design and operate highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems, ensuring uptime, reliability, and performance across production environments.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) for modern infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, CloudWatch) and building effective alerting systems

- Guide a multidisciplinary engineering team through the full development lifecycle-from design and implementation to validation, deployment, and operation.
- Set the technical direction for the organization through hands-on involvement in architecture, infrastructure design, and system reviews, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with platform, security, and development teams to design and deliver reliable CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and tooling that empower engineering productivity across all product teams.
- Drive operational excellence by improving system reliability, enforcing SLIs/SLOs, and enhancing monitoring, alerting, and on-call processes.
- Engage in hands-on problem solving, guiding the team through debugging, incident response, and root cause analysis of complex infrastructure or deployment issues.
