The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager – Flight Controls to support the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization. This role is crucial for overseeing and certifying supplier-developed software within the Flight Controls and Mechanical/Hydraulic (FCMH) domain, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the production value stream.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading a software development team through the full software life cycle
- Familiarity with FAA DO-178, DO 330, ARP 4754 certification
- Experience in technical management and oversight of projects and resources
- Experience with Electrical engineering and integration of complex applications and software
Responsibilities
- Oversee professional employees engaged in engineering and technical activities within Software specifically focusing on Flight Controls and Mechanical / Hydraulic systems
- Develop and execute comprehensive software project and implementation plans tailored to FCMH, ensuring adherence to compliance
- Provide technical management and guidance to partners and stakeholders in FCMH, emphasizing quality assurance throughout the development process
- Lead and oversee technical strategies, ensuring effective development and support for FCMH software while maintaining high-quality benchmarks
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers (both internal and external), stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports within FCMH
- Inspire, develop, and motivate team members to achieve their full potential in the context of FCMH software development, and certification
Other
- 5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
- 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, and business partners
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role leading global teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
- 2+ years of experience in team building, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team member, and inspiring work groups through daily interactions
- 10% of travel
