Salesforce's Data 360 (Data Cloud) Q3 team needs to build and evolve a strategic quality infrastructure and end-to-end business validation platform for critical customer data products. This platform will empower feature teams to shift left by providing a composable, developer-friendly framework to simulate real customer data flows, ensuring every Data Cloud feature is validated as customers use it.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in distributed systems, internal developer platforms, or test automation frameworks.
- Strong systems design skills with deep understanding of shift-left testing, CI pipelines, code quality gates, and composable architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/S3, credential management, multi-tenant architectures).
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, marketing activation, identity resolution, or data engineering.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Excellent cross-functional collaborator — able to translate between business flows and technical implementations.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture, design, and evolution of the next-generation Unified Q3 Test Framework, the core platform used across all Data Cloud teams to model, validate, and automate cross-cloud business flows.
- Define framework standards (APIs, patterns, DSLs, reusable modules) to ensure consistency, reliability, and ease of authoring for hundreds of engineers.
- Establish a long-term vision for a scalable, self-service, reusable, and composable automation platform used across orgs, industries, and customer scenarios.
- Build extensible, reusable building blocks that model real business behaviors across ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation, activation, analytics, governance, and personalization.
- Deliver framework primitives and abstractions that drastically reduce test authoring time and improve reliability.
- Contribute to and lead development in the Q3 SDK, CLIs, codegen, workspace tooling, data generators, catalog systems, and execution pipelines for local, workspace, and FIT tenants.
- Use internal AI systems to automatically identify flaky tests, map failures to owning teams, and surface insights to improve reliability and signal-to-noise.
Other
- A related technical degree required.
- You’ll be a key technical leader driving the architecture of the unified framework powering Data Cloud’s quality strategy across the company.
- Your work will directly shape how every feature team tests, validates, and delivers customer-facing functionality.
- This role offers deep technical ownership, end-to-end autonomy, and broad visibility — spanning engineering, product, customer field teams, and real customer scenarios.
- Participate in customer calls to understand complex, industry-specific scenarios and ensure the Q3 platform reflects these business patterns accurately.
