Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), Patient Care Systems (PCS) organization needs to ensure continuity for legacy Device Managers, Patient Monitors, Mobile applications and instrument accessories by leading engineering and cross-functional teams through SW projects, initiatives, and releases to sustain these products in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of technical experience, or advanced Master’s degree with 3 years of technical experience with 3 years of managerial experience.
- Demonstrated experience and competence influencing and managing cross-functionally and across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Ability to manage geographically distributed teams.
- Familiarity with design controls and quality system regulations.
- Experience with or knowledge of CAPA process.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and cross-functional teams through SW projects, initiatives, and releases to sustain our legacy products in the field.
- Lead global engineering teams and partner with other engineering disciplines such as instrument hardware, quality, reliability engineering, regulatory, etc. to deliver product improvements and required remediation and sustenance while ensuring compliance with our product development processes and regulations.
- Lead delivery of projects from problem statement of unmet needs to world-wide delivery.
- Accomplish delivery via cross-functional (SW, HW, Systems, Reliability, Regulatory, …) engineering teams, typical size of 12 – 20.
- Create and foster a high performance, quality-focused and inclusive culture by coaching and motivating WW team members through technical, logistical, and problem solving and resolution including technical CAPA investigation and action phases.
- Own scope, cost and schedule of areas assigned.
- Exercises critical judgement and solves complex engineering problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.

- This position is in Mounds View, MN.
- This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
- Software Manager is required to interact with a computer and communicate with remote peers and co-workers at various hours to accommodate global time zones.
- Software Manager may be asked to travel to WW Vendor site or hospital/clinic.
