Apple's Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking to build the next generation of Augmented Reality (AR) interactive solutions for Apple platforms, and needs a software engineering project manager to drive cross-functional programs and feature areas in spatial computing, augmented reality and 3D rendering
Requirements
- Familiarity or prior experience in any of the following areas: augmented and virtual reality, computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence, 3D rendering engines
- Working knowledge of software development practices including development planning, software bug management, and release management
- Prior experience in hands-on software development is desired
- Curiosity and passion for new technologies and proven ability to quickly understand technical concepts
- Experience in software program or project management
- Ability to create and execute plans in ambiguous settings, identifying priorities and driving what matters
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive summaries, create detailed engineering roadmaps, and produce stakeholder communications across engineering, design, and business teams
Responsibilities
- Drive cross-functional programs and feature areas in spatial computing, augmented reality and 3D rendering for visionOS and other Apple platforms
- Partner with engineering management to lead projects through the software development lifecycle from concept to delivery
- Build strong collaborative relationships within the organization as well as cross-functionally
- Confidently and calmly manage any conflicts and challenges along the way
- Drive projects with a keen eye for important details and communicate clearly on status and risks
- Create and execute plans in ambiguous settings, identifying priorities and driving what matters
- Translate complex technical concepts into executive summaries, create detailed engineering roadmaps, and produce stakeholder communications across engineering, design, and business teams
Other
- 3-5+ years of related experience with a BS/MS, Computer Science / Engineering or relevant industry experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- High integrity, high energy and feel comfortable in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Proven ability to effectively partner cross-functionally with both engineers and engineering leadership, establish trust quickly, and build strong trust-based relationships in order to move work forward
