SandboxAQ is looking to solve some of the world's greatest challenges by delivering AI solutions. The company's Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) power advances in life sciences, financial services, navigation, cybersecurity, and other sectors. The Software Engineering Resident will help rapidly prototype and iterate on different potential solutions to explore new AI use cases, focusing on speed, tangible outcomes, and production readiness.

Requirements

  • Very strong programming proficiency in a modern programming language, ideally Python
  • Comfortable and experienced with Linux-based systems and the command line
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects that involve the integration of software with physical hardware
  • Experience with frontend development in React, TypeScript and storybooks
  • Familiarity with embedded systems firmware
  • Familiarity with building, testing, and deploying applications within a mature software development environment (e.g., using Git, CI/CD, etc.)
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test full-stack features for agentic AI frameworks and products, contributing Python across the stack
  • Rapidly prototype and deploy solutions to explore and validate new AI use cases, prioritizing speed and iteration
  • Deliver tangible outcomes by shipping high-quality, production-ready code and demonstrating value through working features
  • Participate in design discussions and rigorous code reviews, helping establish and uphold team best practices
  • Manage and leverage cloud resources while collaborating closely with a small, world-class team to drive new product ideas forward

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a B.S. or M.S. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality coupled with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a strong bias for action.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and a genuine, strong desire to learn continuously.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to thrive, adapt, and maintain high performance in a rapidly evolving and sometimes unstructured environment.
