SandboxAQ is looking to revolutionize heart health by developing critical software that powers next-generation, non-invasive cardiac diagnostic devices.

Requirements

  • Very strong programming proficiency in a modern programming language, ideally Python.
  • Comfortable and experienced with Linux-based systems and the command line.
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects that involve the integration of software with physical hardware.
  • Experience with frontend development in React, TypeScript and storybooks.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems firmware
  • Familiarity with building, testing, and deploying applications within a mature software development environment (e.g., using Git, CI/CD, etc.).
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS

Responsibilities

  • Actively collaborate with the product and engineering teams to design and prototype novel features for our cutting-edge medical devices
  • Take ownership of integrating prototyped features into the full medical device software stack, ensuring seamless operation from the Python backend (Tornado/Flask) to the React-based frontend device operators use
  • Create clearly-written, tested, scalable, and documented SW solutions
  • Take a hands-on role in the lab, supporting the software setup, integration, and debugging on real-world hardware
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment workflows

Other

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a M.S., or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality coupled with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a strong bias for action.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and a genuine, strong desire to learn continuously.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to thrive, adapt, and maintain high performance in a rapidly evolving and sometimes unstructured environment.
