Peraton is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join a high-performing development team to work on a mature software system and contribute to the ongoing evolution of a critical technology platform.
Requirements
Strong experience with Java development in a professional setting.
Interest or experience in modern Java frameworks like Quarkus, PrimeFaces, or similar technologies.
Ability to design software with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Experience with Database Development (DBA).
Experience with Java.
Experience with SQL and query creation.
Experience with PostgreSQL.
Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced algorithms that meet strict timing, system resource, and interface constraints.
Perform quality assurance and code reviews to maintain high development standards.
Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to gather requirements and ensure software meets performance and integration specifications.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including enhancements to documentation and software development processes.
Support deployment activities, coordinating installations and verifying that software functions as intended in its operational environment.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a team-based development process.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
