FanDuel is looking to modernize its software delivery through AI-assisted development and cutting-edge architecture for its sports products, aiming to drive transformational uplift and scale its consumer-facing sports platform.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven design, and API ecosystems.
- Prior experience leading large-scale platform modernization efforts using GenAI/AI-assisted development tools.
- Track record delivering measurable productivity gains, reducing cycle time and increasing deployment velocity.
- Proven experience managing large engineering organizations (750+ people), at scale and across geographies and time zones.
- Solid CS fundamentals.
- Experience with microservices, ML, real-time content, and personalization.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead a GenAI-powered productivity transformation: integrate AI toolchains and assisted coding workflows across all engineering teams.
- Architect and scale FanDuel’s sports platforms on AWS, focusing on microservices, high-availability, performance, cost optimization, and automation.
- Set and deliver engineering excellence goals around CI/CD pipelines, observability, incident response, technical debt reduction, and operational KPIs in alignment with our Platform Engineering strategies
- Drive culture of velocity and quality: mentor engineering leaders, enforce pragmatic decision-making, and encourage innovation.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Security, Operations, and Executive teams to align on roadmap, technical strategy, and business outcomes.
- Be able to be hands-on: routinely engage in code reviews, architectural design, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
- Increase partnership with Flutter Group international brands tech leadership and teams to create leverage and opportunities

- Drive execution, strategy, and change management as a senior technology executive to support the CTO and organizational strategic plans
- Recruit, develop, and lead a global high-performing engineering organization (~750+), including senior engineering leaders and cross-functional product teams.
- Strong bias for action — comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels, with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communicator and cross-functional influencer; experienced in executive presentations, roadmap negotiation, and stakeholder alignment.
