Requirements
- Hybrid Leadership Experience: 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a demonstrated track record of owning product decisions or roadmaps.
- Deep API Knowledge: Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, authentication standards (OAuth), and integration patterns.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to look at a list of 20 potential integrations and use data and strategy to determine the 3 that will drive the most revenue and retention.
- Customer Empathy: Understanding that integrations are about solving workflow problems, not just moving data, and ability to speak to customers to uncover their true needs.
- Technical Background: Previous hands-on experience as a software engineer (Java, PHP, Node, or similar) to gain the respect of the team and help guide architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the Integration Strategy: Act as the Product Owner for the Integrations domain, define the roadmap, conduct market research, and prioritize features based on business value and customer adoption.
- Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of talented software engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence, provide career coaching, and ensure the team has the context they need to succeed.
- Treat the API as a Product: Champion the 'API-First' mindset, ensure the Public API is a polished product with a world-class Developer Experience (DX), documentation, and stability.
- Drive Technical Execution: Oversee the architecture and delivery of scalable 3rd-party integrations and API enhancements, ensure building for maintainability and performance.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to understand client needs and enable them to sell the value of the connected ecosystem.
- Standardize Connectivity: Define the patterns and frameworks that allow building integrations faster, move from 'one-off' connections to a scalable integration platform.
