Collins Aerospace in Richardson, Texas is looking to add a Software Technician to partner with engineering to provide expertise and innovative solutions that support the engineering process. Technicians provide technical resources, knowledge, assistance, and support engineers with many of the “hands on” technical tasks associated with engineering.
Requirements
- Previous experience with Coding Languages such as: C/C++, Python, Java, or other comparable languages required
- Experience with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting across Windows and Linux environments
- Understanding of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation
- Familiarity with tool license management and support for both software and electrical engineering teams
- Experience with file management systems such as Subversion, GIT, BitBucket/SourceTree
- Maintains a Basic IT Certification such as CompTIA A+ or knowledgeable about basic IT and OS troubleshooting
- Connecting hardware and software systems, testing software, networking, and knowledge of electronic concepts
Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering Software designs and utilizes appropriate software, tools and diagnostic utilities to verify software for sequence, functionality, and standards compliance.
- Ability to adapt existing code bases in a variety of programming languages.
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain cross-disciplinary engineering tools spanning software and electrical environments
- Document and recognize how software is related to program software and systems.
- Evaluate, generate, and implement problem-solving solutions for both programming and administrative tasks
- Troubleshoot and problem solve core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation, change management, and scripting.
- Support basic IT infrastructure and networking

- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date
