Requirements
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design
- Deep experience with Lean, Agile, and Continuous Delivery principles
- Expert in aligning engineering investment with customer outcomes and business metrics
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Proven experience with leading geographically dispersed teams
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams that can deliver incremental customer value every two weeks
- Strong business acumen and understanding of how product engineering impacts overall business success
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Sportsbook product engineering organization
- Collaborate with Sportsbook Core Engineering and Sportsbook Product team to define sportsbook product engineering goals, metrics, and ways of working
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Oversee the design and development of innovative and performant customer experiences
- Implement best practices for product engineering to deliver incremental customer value every two weeks, including CI/CD
- Ensure high quality and performance of sportsbook customer experiences, supported by the Sportsbook Core Engineering teams, and minimizing downtime during critical events
- Support Sportsbook Core Engineering in driving compliance with gaming regulations and security standards across all sportsbook systems
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on product engineering and delivering customer value
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a senior engineering role, such as Director or VP of Engineering
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
