deciBel Research is seeking a Software Engineer to support software engineering efforts on the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of the systems engineering process and experience with system development of a software-centric product
- Experience generating scripts and a fundamental understanding of software development with the ability to troubleshoot and support software integration efforts
- C++, Java, ADA
- Linux GUI building tools, such as Eclipse and GPS
- Experience with application software and systems that contain Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), logical and mathematical solutions in a Linux environment
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point
- Current Security+ certification
Responsibilities
- Maintain lab and mininode configurations to include adding, removing, updating redhat package manager modules (RPMs) for testing/verification
- Produce lab runs to test and evaluate new software capabilities as well as perform daily log file management
- Create scenarios and input files to evaluate specific conditions and software behaviors in the GMD Fire Control software
- Perform message tracing between portions of GFC software to ensure system functions as intended
- Investigate and document issues discovered during lab runs and provide log files to software developers
- Support daily Scrum meetings
- Attain/Maintain Security+ certification and continuation education training requirements for a privileged user account
Other
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM-related field
- Active US government DoD Secret security clearance (minimum of interim with ability to attain full secret)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess strong critical-thinking and solid problem-solving skills coupled with an innate desire to learn
- Well-organized and intrinsically motivated to work with limited direction in a dynamic team environment
