WGU is looking to hire a Product Manager to own the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned platforms, aiming to expand access to higher education through online, competency-based degree programs.
Requirements
- Proven ability to manage technical backlogs and write user stories/epics for developers.
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Appworx,etc.
- Familiarity with AI/ML capabilities in platforms.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or other equivalent certification (e.g., Pragmatic Marketing).
- Understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate them to non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned platforms, including roadmap planning, prioritization, feature definition, and release management.
- Works in an agile environment fulfilling the role of Product Owner and continuously refines and prioritizes the backlog.
- Engages a cross-functional team of stakeholders, end-users, engineers, UX designers, and Product & Portfolio leaders to understand the problems to solve, inform the product vision, and define software product requirements.
- Partners with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into platform capabilities, and drive adoption across the organization.
- Delivers on and supports communication of the software product roadmap based on the strategy, problems to solve, and stakeholder priorities, defined by senior members of the product team.
- Collaborates with the Scrum team to translate the product roadmap into well-defined features and a deep product backlog of sprint-ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria to deliver on the roadmap.
- Maintains knowledge on assigned product(s), including the technology used, integrations, and dependencies. Understands the latest relevant technologies, vendors, innovations, and forward-thinking trends.
