Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization is looking for an Experienced Software Quality Engineer to help develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The goal is to improve the quality of software products developed by Boeing or provided by suppliers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test
  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 2+ years of software quality engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with Software Development Processes
  • Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools
  • Experience with Project Management of products developed using Agile software development practices and tools (JIRA)

Responsibilities

  • Defines and maintains large scale program software quality engineering processes, resources and infrastructure
  • Leads process improvement activities
  • Supports development of organization policies, procedures, infrastructure and metrics to support business objectives
  • Prepares and presents information at formal review meetings
  • Reviews supplier proposals and makes software quality source selection recommendations
  • Leads review and approval of software life cycle documents and program products
  • Plans and leads initial baseline internal or supplier, large complex audits of software engineering processes and associated support functions

  • Must work well with minimum direction, be self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and maintain a psychologically safe work environment.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance (Post-Start).
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
