Travelers is looking to improve the quality of their software by evolving their approach to test automation and ensuring that their digital assets are accessible and compliant with accessibility standards such as WCAG.

Requirements

  • Four years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • 2 years experience preferred in evaluating digital products, including websites and applications, for accessibility from the perspective of users.
  • Certifications from IAAP or DHS Trusted Tester or similar
  • Experience with tools such as: Axe Development tools, Andi, Wave, etc.
  • Experience with screenreaders: NVDA, Voiceover, Jaws, Talkback, or Narrator.
  • Two years of programming/development experience.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand our test automation framework and test coverage.
  • Develop working knowledge of the entire application stack including tests at all levels. (Unit, Integration, and End-to-end).
  • Groom and prune tests at all levels to ensure optimal coverage and effective deduplication.
  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of digital assets, including websites, applications, software, and documents, to identify potential barriers and ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG via UIC Digital Accessibility Consultation Services and other communication mechanism
  • Participate in design and development reviews to proactively identify potential accessibility challenges and provide guidance on inclusive design principles.
  • Provide training sessions and workshops to developers, designers, and other stakeholders to raise awareness and promote best practices for integrating accessibility into the development process
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and with the wider product and development team to understand how new features should be tested and to contribute to automated tests for these new features.

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • Four years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.
  • Ability to seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
