Requirements
- Experience with analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
- Experience with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
- Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems, Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
- Experience with DOD System Safety Standards, Experience producing System Safety Program Plans (SSPP)
- Experience with Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), Experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), and Hazard Tracking Logs (HTLs), and Hazardous Material Management Plans and Reports.
- Experience with Safety Engineering, Experience conducting System Safety Working Groups (SSWG)
Responsibilities
- Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
- Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
- Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
- Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses.
- Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including:
- Monitoring program technical execution, Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors).
- Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval.
Other
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
- Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
- Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards.
- Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design.
