ERG is seeking a Software & Simulation Engineer to provide technical expertise and engineering support at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) – Indian Head Division, contributing to mission-critical test and simulation programs supporting the U.S. Navy.
Requirements
- 3 – 7 years of experience with computer-based test systems and simulation environments
- Proficiency in real-time software development, interface programming (Ethernet, serial, parallel I/O), and data processing/evaluation programming
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and optionally Linux operating systems
- Experience with IntervalZero RTX, Microsoft Visual Studio, and programming languages such as FORTRAN, C/C++, Ada, and optionally Python
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing test plans, procedures, and software documentation
- Ability to conduct testing following approved SOPs and ensure accuracy and compliance in all test activities
Responsibilities
- Provide software and simulation support for the operation and maintenance of the Functional Ground Test (FGT) platform
- Develop, integrate, and evaluate software and simulation models for real-time applications, including missile and flight simulations
- Interpret software requirements, algorithms, and interface specifications to assess software and system performance
- Operate and troubleshoot computer-based test systems and components, including Global Positioning System (GPS) simulators and data processing/recording equipment
- Conduct software testing in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other procedures
- Prepare and present technical documentation, including test plans, test readiness reviews, test reports, and version description documents
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners to integrate and evaluate software solutions

- Must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate must be able to obtain medical certification for working with explosives and must be willing to submit to random drug testing
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
