Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) is looking to solve the problem of managing and supporting the software and analysis needs of their organization, specifically within the Software Simulations and Controls (SSC) group.
Requirements
- Experience supporting software needs for hardware-based products from an engineering and or management perspective.
- Experience supporting government programs.
- Experience mentoring software engineers.
- Understanding of CI/CD output from a metrics perspective. Including tools and environments such as: Github, Jira, Artifactory or Azure.
- Experience working with robotic or underwater systems.
- Solid written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering issues to team members and customers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of Defense Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Write and help implement internal policies and procedures for the SSC group.
- Monitor the quality of software work products (including DevOps) and proactively address areas of concern.
- Contribute to policies and procedures external to the group (such as corporate software standards, quality, or engineering).
- Functionally manage SSC members.
- Participate in SSC hiring and resource allocation.
- Evaluate and help purchase software licensing and overhead equipment such as monitors, electrical monitoring tools, boards, or signal convertors.
- Work with corporate IT to address issues and craft implementation for new capabilities/practices.
Other
- BS Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline. Commensurate experience will be considered.
- 15+ years of practical experience supporting software needs for hardware-based products from an engineering and or management perspective.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of Defense Security Clearance.
- Support occasional travel needs.
