Booz Allen is looking for an experienced embedded software engineer to develop technology for clients' most important mission-forward challenges, creating and maintaining crucial pieces of software that allow different systems to communicate.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with embedded software in languages such as C and C++
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Agile software development methodology
- Experience with requirements management environments and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or DOORS
- Knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and tools, including SVN, Bitbucket, Git, or JIRA
- Knowledge of Linux operating system, including RedHat or RedHawk
- Ability to model, architect, design, develop, code, integrate, test, and manage embedded software solutions
- Ability to develop and execute software and electronics lifecycle management, development, transition, and sustainment and support plans
Responsibilities
- Develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices
- Configure solutions based on the platform being used
- Write, test, and edit code in support of the team's overall results
- Troubleshoot and correct operational issues
- Work with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software is secure
- Lead a software development team through all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Translate stakeholder and system needs into software requirements
Other
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Ability to work with other team leaders and cybersecurity specialists
- Ability to work in a remote or hybrid environment, with periodic work from a Booz Allen or client site facility
