Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. The Software Systems Engineering team is responsible for defining SW development processes and ensuring that all safety-critical software meets a high safety bar for production vehicles. This role will help define features and capabilities of middleware components that help achieve safety goals for High ASIL SW functionality in their robot taxi.
Requirements
- Technical understanding of the physics and fundamental technologies used in automotive Camera, LiDAR, and Radar systems
- Experience in negotiating, writing and managing requirements
- MATLAB, Python, Optis (or comparable integrated raytracing tool)
- Experience in Sensors V&V
- Experience on Safety-Critical Systems
Responsibilities
- Lead various systems engineering activities that are essential for a successful launch of safety-critical software on a self-driving vehicle
- Help define architecture of how middleware applications fulfill system level (or vehicle level) needs in our robot taxi.
- Define processes that leverage middleware’s capabilities, and help build a strong and future-proof architecture for the robotaxi as we expand to newer and larger markets.
- Assist in investigating new HW and SW and suppliers for future generations of our compute platform.
- Collaborate with the safety team to identify safety requirements, explore redundancy options, and develop methods to ensure system-wide safety goals are met
Other
- B.S./M.S./PhD in Engineering, Physics or relevant field and 5+ years of experience
- Experience in a Systems Engineering role
- Cross-functional collaboration to determine system requirements, through a combination of field testing or analysis and experience in presenting results
- Experience on Sensors for Autonomous Vehicles (Camera, LiDAR, Radar)
