The Boeing Company is looking for Software Systems Engineers (Senior / Lead) to join the Ground Software Engineering team to support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Satellite Systems Software Engineering organization. The team creates software tools and services for satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers, focusing on the development of next-generation ground systems in a rapid development environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with software development for space systems and ground segments performing command, control, mission planning and data processing
- 5+ years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
- 3+ years of experience leading software development projects
- 3+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, ActiveMQ), and data streaming technologies (e.g., CCSDS).
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate testing, builds, and deployment workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain requirements, architecture, algorithms, interfaces, and design for high-performance Command and Control (C2) software solutions.
- Lead software development activities in the scaled agile methodology utilizing a DevSecOps environment.
- Supporting software development activities and integrating completed software components into a fully functional software system.
- Perform day-to-day activities in the areas of Cost Account Manager, Product Owner/Technical Lead, Release Train Engineer/Scrum Master, and/or Integration & Test lead.
- Support IPT by implementing a structured approach to defining and meeting a development and integration schedule alongside a rigorously managed cost baseline.

- Requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (interim prestart, final post start)
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
- Travel: 10%
