General Motors is looking to ensure their vehicles meet critical regulatory standards by testing systems and software across various vehicle programs, verifying compliance with regulations such as FMVSS 101, 102, 111, 114, 118, 126, 135, 138, 208, and others, to certify them for saleable intent.
Requirements
- 4+ years of testing experience in electrical or infotainment systems
- Proficiency with CAN-based communication and diagnostic tools
- Scripting and automation experience
- Experience with HIL systems and test automation frameworks
- Hands-on experience with vehicle flashing tools and diagnostic equipment
- Working knowledge of Python, CAPL, or other scripting languages
- Ability to author test cases and analyze requirements
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on bench and vehicle-level testing at GM’s Milford and Warren sites
- Plan and execute tests based on regulatory requirements to meet vehicle program timelines
- Develop innovative test methods and models to validate critical system components
- Automate test scripts and utilize HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) setups for closed-loop testing
- Capture, analyze, and interpret data to identify and troubleshoot issues
- Use Jira and PRTS to manage work tickets and document issues effectively
- Generate, review, and approve comprehensive test evaluation reports

- Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren (MI) three times per week, at minimum.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects across programs
- Valid driver’s license
