IDT, provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DoD), is seeking a Software Test Engineer Intern to solve some of the DoD’s toughest challenges.

Requirements

  • Experience with software testing, test automation, and test tools
  • Understanding test automation design patterns, and software testing principles and methodologies
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and tools
  • Experience with Test Automation or Integration and Test (I&T) of a tactical defense system
  • Ability to develop software tests for software written in C/C++, Java, JavaScript or Python
  • Software development skills with C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, GIT

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automated testing strategies using automated testing solutions, such as IDT’s ATRT Test Manager, SmartBear’s TestComplete, or open-source test tools such as Cypress or Selenium
  • Automate software system operations by understanding customer and program requirements
  • Design, build and execute end-to-end and regression automation tests for tactical defense systems
  • Generate status reports for test results and associated issues
  • Support and enhance the existing testing process by suggesting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate and analyze automation metrics
  • Work with minimal supervision to implement best-in-class solutions
