CleanChoice Energy is seeking a Solar Developer to lead the development of solar and energy storage projects in PJM, ISONE, NYISO, to empower people and businesses to cut emissions and live cleaner, healthier lives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of extensive and verifiable successes in the solar and or energy storage in applicable markets, PJM a plus.
- Proficient computer skills and software such as Microsoft Office suite including Excel, MS Project Word, and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Successfully navigate greenfield and acquisition projects through the full development lifecycle, achieving NTP and working closely with the finance, construction and operations teams to transition into operating assets.
- Coordination with contractors & vendors to ensure pricing and deliverables are consistent across markets meeting financier/investor requirements.
- Lead interconnection application processes.
- Lead stakeholder outreach campaigns and land use permitting.
- Participate in and monitor market conditions, providing input to policy, permitting and interconnection topics necessary to maintain or enhance project viability.
- Manage project schedules and budgets including cash flows, clearly communicating project spend profiles to executive management to ensure development milestones are met.
- Provide legal team with support for the review and negotiation of documents.

- The Developer will report to the Senior Director, Acquisitions & Development, Generation.
- The Developer’s day-to-day project responsibilities will include management of an Associate Project Manager and ensuring the successful development and execution of the project pipeline.
- Clearly communicate to executive management project funding requests, risk exposure/mitigation and expected returns.
- Collaborate with cross functional team leads to ensure development efforts align with business plan and corporate goals.
- Maintain landowner and stakeholder relationships throughout the development process.
- Lead the handoff of the project to the EPC team at start of construction.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- The individual will be a self-starter able to multitask, work both independently and in collaborative environments.
- Ability to mentor and manage staff.
- This is a remote position with approximately 50% travel required which can include project sites, industry events, land use hearings, stakeholder engagement meetings, team meetings, and CleanChoice events.
